Album cover research results
Covers B,C and F gained the most votes (25% each). This shows that the two arctic monkeys and the Script album covers are the most popular on first impressions.

Ancillary alternative idea.
I have used a Julian Opie style graphic style to test out using off of the band members in one shot, stood around the car used in my music video.
This wasn't as successful as I hoped and I would use the original ideas over this one. However, this technique may be useful when it comes to the album cover as I could adopt a 'Blur' album cover style.

Ancillary 1 Production - Magazine Adverts
I have four magazine adverts here, one featuring each band member. These will be used in different magazines and switched between throughout the advertising campaign.
This one features Chris in front of an abstract background. I kept the colour splashes of the background to add a different colour tone to the image as he is wearing quite neutral colours that don't contrast too much with a monotone background.
This one features Rob leant up against a railing as per my first idea. I have used a colour splash so that he is the only thing in colour, making him stand out and anchoring the band's conventions through all of the adverts. I chose to add a blue smoke as I think this best fits the image, as he is wearing blue so it doesn't add another colour which would take the focus away from the band member.
This one features Anna swinging on a goalpost. This scene (or at least a very similar one) was used in my music video and so shows continuity between the medias and fans will be able to notice this. Again, I have used a monotone background to contrast the band member to and to anchor the band's branding.
This one features Tom leant against a graffitied wall. This location was also used in my production and so the iconography anchors the two medias. I have photoshopped the graffiti so that it looks cleaner, making the image more appealing to look at. As with the others, I have used a monotone background.
On all of the adverts, I have included convergence logos for both iTunes and Spotify, pointing out to the audience how they can access the bands' music. I have also added the key date for when the album will be released so that they can anticipate the release in advance. I have also added the band name - 'Falling at the Disco' - and the album name - 'Smoke Metal' - to the advert. The enigmatic feel of the adverts may interest the audience to search for the band online, finding more about them and hopefully becoming a fan of them. All of these features are typical of a magazine advert from the indie(rock) genre.
